How dare he! To be doubted by even a mere Fire triber? Squall glared at him, ready to fight, but realizing that Sangria spoke truth. Her ears flicked back to a position they maintained whenever Pyromancy was around. Only then did Squall notice the chestnut mare by his side. His mate, of course. She spoke to the mare: They grow in strength, as does the Earth tribe, our sworn enemy. We could help you defeat them - they stand no more chance against us than a sparrow in a squall!
They both speak truth, Pyromancy. she said to her mate. She looked at the Wind tribe mares: one a total grey, splattered with bloodmarks, the other a solid, steel color. So very different, she thought, although both wise in their own ways! We are not the ones to discuss this with, Wind tribers. Our lead, Diamonte, may want a say. Alatanna smiled at them both, hoping they would understand.

Diamonte rose her head high as she made her way to the two wind mares. "I'm the lead." She said sternly. "Why are you and your herd worried about the Water tribe? Shouldn't your time be concerned with the Earth tribe?"

I'm tired of others telling me what I should or shouldn't be like! That's my desicion! Squall fought to keep her temper visibly stuggling. She choked out words she didn't really want to say, but must anyhow. We offer to help you defeat the Water tribe, Fire-lead. We only ask the same in return for our favor - that we then defeat the Earth tribe. She bit her tongue to keep from saying more than she really wanted to. It bled, and she began to graze frantically to disguise it.

Sangria very much wanted to give White Squall a good hard nip. The mare was edging very close to ruining the mission with her wild temper. Still, she had made some good points, so discipline could wait. It is my partner says, the bloodmarked mare replied, playing off of Stormy's comments. We wish to strike the Water tribe now, before they can grow too great in strength and pose a threat to us both. All we ask is that you help us defeat the Earth in return.
Pyromancy scoffed. Why should we fight your battle against the Earth? They are small and weak, and certainly of no concern to me, at least. Besides, what is gained by wiping out a tribe so small? Waste of energy and time. The stallion shook his head, seeming to despair at the Wind's foolishness. Besides, if your tribe is so strong and swift, surely you can defeat the Earth without our help? He turned and walked away, cleansing himself of the issue. A few yards off, he paused. Oh, and you should keep a stronger rein on the smoke-coat. She's a wild card, he called over his shoulder, smirking all the while.

Diamonte listens to the wind mares' case, holding her tongue, keeping from interrupting. Her ears turn back as Pyromancy talks. A snort erupts from her nostrils. "Ignore him, he's not the one that makes the decisions." Dia was level-minded, and didn't let her pride get in the way of thinking clearly. A problem some of her other ranking members seemed to struggle with. "Here's what we will do. You help us defeat the water tribe. And when we win, we will back you up in defeating the Earth tribe. Your tribe can probably handle them, but if we notice you need some help. Then we will be there to aid you." She scans over her herd then looks back to the wind mares. "Take it or leave it."

It's a good deal, Sangria, Squall said quietly to the mare. We would do well to take it. It may be the besy that we can get out of this tribe. She glared at Pyromancy's retreating form, again, very nearly rushing into a fight with him. She hated that stallion! If they ever met in battle, he would get no mercy from her, allies or not! Smoke-coat indeed.
Alatanna snorted, agreeing with her mate, but realizing that Diamonte was right. They needed to make peace with this tribe, not anger them. At least for the time being. She trotted to catch up with Pyromancy, trying to make him see a little bit of sense. We cannot anger them so, Pyromancy. We might not be able to defeat the Water tribe by ourselves. White Squall would be bad to have as an enemy, for she has the look of a fighter.

Sangria nodded, wordlessly agreeing with White Squall and having come to the same conclusions. Thank you, Lead Mare. We shall inform our Lord of your decision, she replied, bowing slightly before departing.
Pyromancy looked down at his mate and tehn back to the Lead Mare. He was fuming inside, but could concede... grudgingly. Alright, he said, thought you could tell he wasn't pleased.
(sorry for the short reply, my stomach hurts really bad)

Dia nods to the mares and turns away from them, pleased with their deal. She glanced at Pyromancy, knowing he was aggravated, but chuckled on the inside. Let him say something. She thought to herself. I'll be sure to put him in his place, Beta stallion or not.

Pyromancy locked eyes with Diamonte and felt his face twist into a snarl. He looked like he wanted to kick his lead, but he restrained himself. He had just aquired his position of power and didn't want to lose it, not this soon. Besides, she'd said they would only aid the Wind fighting the Earth IF they looked like they needed the help. He could live with an if. Not very contentedly, but he could. Stiffly, the stallion nodded, deferring to her.

White Squall bowed slightly, dipping her head to the Lead and the Beta Mare, then turning away. Her fight with the stallion could wait. She smiled. All seemed well, for now, at least.
Alatanna saw her mate's anger and sighed. Diamonte was in the right. An alliance would be just what they needed from the Wind tribe, and she was cool enough to see it. But no harm done in the end. Now, if she could just keep her lead and Pyromancy from fighting while they waited for war...

Dee stood, grazing by the leader of the herd. They had both been in need of a grazing buddy and Jax had agreed to be his. Dee refused to complain as much around Jax since he was an authority figure and the little colt needed to make a good impression. He took conservative bites of the small patch of dry grass that they had found so that Jax didn't think he was rude. He had the urge to jump up and run around Jax, trying to get him to play, but the stallion was a leader...he didn't have time to play!
Jax's tail flicked slightly in amusement, brushing against the colt's face to try to get him to do exactly what he had been wanting to do. Play..Jax loved Foals and the hyper ones, like Dee, were more fun. But Dee seemed to think that he shouldn't be playing around Jax..Must be because he was Leader of the Fire Tribe. The title was a high one, but it got in the way at times..
Dee jumped back as the tail hit his face and leaped at Jax, laughing and headbutting his shoulder. The urge to play had been too much! Jax didn't even budge when Dee's head hit his stringy muscles and Dee fell back on his butt. He giggled and leaped to his feet again, headbutting Jax yet again and pushing against him, his feet scrambling and sliding on the ground.
Jax laughed, stepping aside and making Dee stumble slightly. Then, he ran, slow enough for the Colt to be able to keep up, but fast enough for it to be a bit of a challenge..That's how good runners were made. Dee laughed loudly and gave chase. It wasn't long before some other horses came into view. Perfect. Jax looked back and smiled, "Race?" He asked. Dee sped up , frowning in concentration and soon, he caught up with Jax, and passed him, heading for the group of horses. Jax frowned a little, Wind Tribe? He let Dee beat him to the group and came to a stop near his mate, Diamonte. Dee's chants of "Beat ya beat ya!" Went unnoticed as he looked around a bit, "I missed something again, didn't I?" He asked.

Diamonte turned to face Jax as he approached. A smirk etched her mug, "Yeah, you did. The wind tribe came seeking an alliance. We help them defeat the earth tribe and they help us defeat the water tribe." The lead said, summarizing the previous events. Deciding to leave out the near temper tantrum Pyromancy had.

When Alatanna's lead appeared on the scene, she dipped her head to acknowlegde him. "Pyromancy, have you seen Sovli lately? I don't know where he is." She referred to her youngest son, midnight black Sovli. She still worried about him, despite the fact that she knew he could take care of himself. He was the youngest, after all...

Pyromancy dipped a quick bow to his superior before addressing his mate's concern about her son. The child bore none of his blood - the youngling was ebony and he carried not such a gene - but he was important to Alatanna and even Pyro could see that.
I have not seen him of late - but I hear he walks with rovers in the Spirit Land, replied the chestnut stallion.

Her son? Rover? He was black - perfect for Lead, he had ranking bloodlines, all of it. Why would he want to become a rover? He shouldn't be there. She began to trot towards the Spirit Land, very deliberatly, almost angrily. I'm going to find him. Come, if you want. How could he simply run like that? It made no sense to her.
